WORLD "WATER DAMAGE" COLLECTION WITH STRONG ENGLISH COLONIES, We got a call from a lady, living in a very nice village near the North Sea, that she wanted an estimation of a collection of stamps from her late father. She told us she had water in her cellar after the February 2021 storm and his collection was for a part damaged by the water. The insurance company took the complete collection to freeze dry them. The first thing we thought that it was probably worthless now. We made an appointment, and we went there and saw one of the Netherlands nicest houses. The lady showed us the collection, and it surprised us how good the condition still was. Of course, you can see the traces of water and the stamps are partly stuck on to the pages, but all in all it was still reasonable good. We looked through the books and saw very much better material of many Countries. There is very strong Great Britain and English Colonies, Asia including China, South America, French Colonies etc., here and there you find good stamps and sets. We advise looking through the lot page by page because everything is everywhere. If there was no water damage this lot would be worth around €50.000,=, now we start low at 10% of this value but still worth much and much more, ideal to sort out!, in approx. 80 stockbooks/ring binders etc., in 11 boxes
