FRANCE 1849-2013, unused mostly never hinged phenomenal collection of this highly interesting Country to collect. During our Estimation Day in Auxerre near the entrance of the Morvan Parc, there came an older lady and her 3 children with this collection, the husband was deceased half a year ago and they had this collection and didn't know what to do with it, after opening the first book we were already highly surprised and delighted, there were pile of certificates from only better, very high noted stamps, and yes all these stamps were still there. Starting the first issue we saw a phenomenal collection with many of the highlights from France, not only the regular issues but also all "Back of the Book" with good Airmails, Journal stamps, Postage Dues etc., with very much never hinged, only in the classic part the 1Fr. Vermillion Terne used and a few stamps unused. After we saw all the books, the lady could tell us that her late husband has told her that there was about €750.000,=(Yvert) catalogue value, because he counted it all a few years ago. Most of the material was bought from French and Italian auctions and dealers over the last 25 years. According to her he spent at least €250.000,= to €300.000,= for this collection. We did get permission from the Family to sell the collection for the best possible price at this moment. The start price is, like usually for us, very low. The photo's shows just only a fraction of the whole collection, because there is too much to show. We advise you to view this collection carefully and spare some time to do so, by far the best collection of France we ever had in Auction. A great opportunity to become a fantastic collection like this. Totally in 17 albums, and a small box with various carnets etc., viewing is only at request.
