WORLD "THE MONT ST. MICHEL COLLECTION" 1840-1940, (un)used/never hinged collection. During our estimation day at the famous island of Mont St. Michel a lady came with this collection of her late father, with a big smile we were viewing this collection because it is one of the so called "oldtimer" collections. The collection contains the whole World from A till Z, every part of the World is in a separate album, so in very nice order. The collector was collecting for over 50 years and tried to find as much as he could, in the time he collected he had to travel to find items for his collection. There are many better high noted stamps and sets, in 6 mostly very thick old albums. He liked the Colonies of the European Countries most, so there is a strong part of English, French and Portuguese Colonies, especially he liked the English Colonies but also the Asian and American part is spectacular. To get a good impression you have to view it page by page because the expensive stamps are most of the time not in the right place but on a separate page. The start price is just a fraction of the total catalogue value. Ideal collection to continue or to split up Country by Country, we think the buyer of this collection will be a happy one, in 6 albums
