FRANCE 1849-1900, (un)used/never hinged collection, via a very good relation in Paris we got the tip that the owner of this collection was ready to sell. He brought us in contact with the owner and we made an appointment to see the collection and here it is now for sale in our auction. The collection belongs to a lady who withhold this book. Her husband died two years ago and she sold his collection immediately, but what she didn't know that the first book of the collection was in a secret safe at the bank. When she sold the other part of the collection the buyer found a pile of certificates of the stamps that are in this collection, but of course they could not find the stamps. When they opened the Safe, begin of December 2020 they found this book. She phoned the man who bought the rest of the collection, this person sold the collection and threw away the certificates, he was not interested in stamps anymore and sent her to our good relation. That's the story about how we found this absolute stunning collection of this quality collection of classic stamps of this Popular Country. In the collection are many stamps you will find seldom in this quality. The average of the collection is unused/never hinged, also including the 1 franc Vermillion (cat. value €125.000,=), this is the only stamp with a certificate (probably this was the last stamp that the collector bought), the rest of the certificates are not there anymore but many are also signed by the better experts. We did make a global estimation of the total collection and came to a total catalogue value between €650.000,= and €700.000,=(Yvert). The lady only wanted us to sell it as one collection with a must sell instruction, so hereby take your change to gain a collection like this, in very nice special album (whole collection on photo)
